Sometimes life does get you down
You want to experience the open outdoors – but the rain is lashing down outside and the thought of getting wet, well say no more.
Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day.

Within the sea of
Mist and rain
I am abandoned
Of all hope.
Grey all around
Haunted of silence
The world appears
To have come to an end.
Sunday gloom
All Saints Day
Even they
Are unable
To save
The day.
Alone to ponder
This lonely trail
The only way I know
Is to walk on
In the hope
That one day soon
I may
Find my way.

The other night Kirra and ‘I’ were out walking, when the sound of what appeared to be an owl in voice echoing through the trees.
This rather unnerved poor Kirra  as she looked up to me for reassurance and protection.
Of course I had the perfect answer to reassure my wee Irish Princess.
“The owl who hoots – is frightened of you”.
With that Kirra was once more back on the trail… and ‘I’ remained ever vigilant for the unexpected
Just remember, as you go out in the dead of night  “Who is watching who
HAPPY HALLOWEEN – EVERYONE
These past days have seen exceptional good weather with continuous blue skies and sunshine with a heat density far in excess of what we had during the summer months.
Such weather brings folk back outdoors to enjoy picnics, walks and many outdoor activities and since our location is on the edge of the National Park and the munros – a popular attraction for walkers and climbers.
Autumn is evident in the carpets of leaves as far as the eye can see as well as the changing colours of the landscape.
We can be thankful for the sunshine and heat wave as it has allowed the ground some respite from the deluge of rainfall in recent weeks.
Even those who enjoy the Kayak are back enjoying the loch and rivers.
My companion is a Cavalier King Charles – ruby in colour and a perfect lady.
Since she came into my life, her enthusiasm had such an effect on me it helped me to focus on my writings and in particular poetry as we embarked upon our daily walks.
She loves to meet humans as well as other dogs where ever she goes.
Cavaliers do bring so much joy into our lives and we must ensure they are given every care and love in return.
Church of prayers
Of folk in congregation
Whatever the weather
May bring.
Their attendance
Is beyond doubt
For the pews are waiting
In this God’s place.
Character of status
Stained of time
As windows depict
Visitors from afar.
Years take their toll
Not only of building
As folk no longer
The congregation
Becomes so few.
And yet this place
Shall exist
For its place
Is secure
A church of prayers
Even in modern times.
